1. The key concept behind social media is that it is shared with those that you identify as friends or followers-an inner circle (which can in fact be quite large) that has opted in to view any content or information you opt to share, thereby making it the act of being social online. (Agresta, 2)
-Social Media is a whole network of how you communicate with friends, family, and relationships. Social media can link you to many other networks, for example; you to your professor and employers through your professional social media like LinkedIn. It is really interesting because social media created an identity of your soul that people can find out information about you without even meeting.

2. Oddly, I think this new generation is probably going to consume more television than we consume right now because their entire connected experience is going to be part of their TV set. Fundamentally, good programming is still what drives interest. All those principles about getting people to watch have not really changed; what has changed is that people also want to be connected during that experience. Just do a search for GLEE or LOST on Facebook or Twitter during the airing of those shows. You will be amazed at the amount of conversation you find. So let’s talk about how these “traditional” marketing platforms will be evolved and, as a result, why they will continue to grow in value. (Bough, 30)
-This new generation will definitely consume more television than we consume right now because as they are growing up throughout those ages while our generation had to evolve into it. Kids nowadays rather play with iPads and computer devices than outside. Their generation grew up with all this technology so they only are adapted to that. If you cant watch your TV show, it is easy to stay updated on your show. There are updates every second, like live tweeting or feeding, while the show is playing so you know what is happening at that very second.

3. Technology today allows us to directly connect with people and find so much information about them that its almost ideal to start local or regional first, and then use that as a starting point to reach a broader audience (Agresta, 79).
-Technology today really does allow us to directly connect and stay in touch with so many people. Social Media helps you locate people on a local or broader scale and find people from around the world. Thanks to technology, we are allowed to find information on the internet from anywhere.

4. “The single most important tip is to pay attention to it. Conceptually, Twitter is a sort of mass stream-of consciousness medium, representing what people are feeling at any given moment. That information is very powerful from a brand perspective in terms of understanding the culture you are hoping to communicate with. So the most important thing is to listen to what it is saying” (Bough, 173).
-Twitter is an open book, like a diary so people will tweet what they are thinking or feeling. People will use their emotions on Twitter to express themselves and you can retweet or favorite a tweet that you think relates to your life. On social media, many people want to help or hurt other people that can really benefit or damage a person. People want to tell someone how they are feeling and since Twitter is a 140 max character count, they express their opinion or minds.

5. “The power of hashtags is that they open conversations up to potentially the entire Twitter community. They invite participation around a given topic from anyone and everyone” (Bough 188).
-Hashtags are the new fun invention on social media. It started up a couple of years ago on Twitter and Instagram. Hashtags let you see what other people are posting under the same category as you. If you post a picture and hashtag it and then click on the picture, many other pictures of the same hashtag will pop up, which allows you to scroll through the feed. Hashtags are very powerful and they let you open conversations up to the social media world.

6. “One of the most overused words in social media is the word “viral.” I’m often asked, “How do I make a viral video?” My short answer is, “You can’t.” There is no formula-tested, fail-proof way of creating viral video content. The Web’s most popular videos often spread unexpectedly and originate from the most unpredictable sources” (Agresta, 206).
-Any video can go viral it all depends on how it is viewed on the internet. A funny video will instantly go viral and it will be all over social media especially GoPro videos. Everyone loves these videos because you attach the camera to your helmet or chest and record your activities. It gets a lot of attention all over the Internet. Videos that people wouldn’t expect get a lot of attention and go viral too. One girl was doing a tutorial on how to curl hair and she accidently burnt some of her hair off with the curling iron and her video went viral over night. It got a lot of attention from the social media community and since it was funny, people got a good laugh and enjoyed it.

7. Once its out there, you can’t take it back. And rather than just erase it and pretend it never happened, you get to apologize and correct any misinformation you put out there (Bough, 231).
It is hard to delete something off of social media once it’s out there. Even when you think you deleted it, it is still lingering around on the web. It is never really fully taken away that is why people need t be careful what they post on the internet because businesses can still see everything even if you think a picture you posted 5 years ago doing something illegal was erased. Everything is taken in different directions when something is posted on the Internet. For instance, when celebrities post something, sometimes people take it to literal and then they have to retract their statement and apologize for what was said. People stand up for others on the web that is why social media has a way of correcting itself.

8. From my point of view, the answer is no. It is never, ever too late to start social media. The opportunity exists in front of your face every single day. You could even say there are advantages to entering the game a little later. You can see what has worked for others in the space and adopt the tactics that have succeeded and avoid the ones that have failed.
-Anyone can join social media at anytime! It is so easy to get started and it is never too late. It is a great way to stay connected and meet new people from around the world. My mother joined social media a couple of years ago and her page took off, she has been talking to friends she hasn’t even spoken to in years from when she was a child. It is easy to grasp the concept of social media and everyone can join it. People want to see what is going on with other people and using social media helps you stay interacted and updated on everything.

9. The internet is changing so rapidly, and those changes are so transformational, that there really is no way to wrap our heads around what its going to look like down the road. So if you want to know what I think the Internet will be in three years, or 10 years, all I can say is that nobody knows (Bough, 253).
-The Internet changes so quickly that sometimes people can’t keep up all the time. I know when there are new updates on apps it sometimes takes me a while to figure out how to use it. Technology keeps changing and it has been skyrocketing ever since. Change is good, especially with social media, people want to stay updated about what is coming out in the world and with all this technology changing so rapidly we are able to stay updated.

10. PepsiCo is definitely one of the most social brands out there, and they’re successful because they’re committed to investing in the space. They understand that social media takes time and resources and that its not just a silo within a larger marketing scheme. They’ve mastered the ability to give their consumers a voice and, as a result, they’re loved by fans all around the world. Of course, if you’ve gotten this far in the book, you already know that.
-Ever since I can remember Pepsi has always had the best commercials. They are so lively and entertaining no wonder why people love soda so much. They are great at thinking of amazing marketing and commercial ideas that they keep their audience so drawn in and customers so satisfied. This helps sell the product and keeps the customers wanting more.
